Review of the Changing Technology Status of Real-Estate

What kind of change is the real-estate agent dealing with?

Today we are living in the most rapidly changing civilization in history. We are bombarded with so much information that we suffer from informational overload. Like the rest of society, the real- estate industry has undergone an enormous amount of change. There has been a influx of new agents, changes in technology, as well as new business models. The pressures on traditional brokers to change increase almost daily.

Will you keep doing what you are currently doing?

Undoubtedly, the way that we did business in 2006 will be substantially different from how we will do business in 2016. Many of today's companies will disappear, including many of the alternative business models. In fact, much of tomorrow's business may be conducted with companies that don't even exist today. The question for agents and brokerages is how can we navigate a rapidly changing real estate environment? The most common strategy is to keep doing what you have always done. There is no real need to change since existing strategies allow you to get by. A good example is the agent who pays for a website but never does anything to market it or to respond to the web inquiries it generates. This is what is called a slow death, because if you do not market your site and answer your prospects no one will know it even exist, except the ones that you speak with daily.

In conclusion if you are a realtor then you must make the changes that are required to stay in the business and be competitive. A striving realtor can be the marketer that everyone is striving to follow.
